QCPD celebrates PNP’s 21st Founding Anniversary
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) celebrated the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) 21st founding anniversary during a recent Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held at Camp Karingal.
A Holy Mass was held at the QCPD chapel to kick start the occasion, attended by station commanders and chiefs of offices/units of QCPD led by District Director Police Chief Superintendent George T Regis.
The event was highlighted by the Guest of Honor and Speaker Undersecretary Rico E Puno of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) who was given full arrival honors by the troops and was treated to a customary Pass and Review.
The ceremony was immediately followed by a shooting competition at the Camp Karingal Firing Range showcasing the firearm proficiency of QCPD policemen where Usec. Puno who is also a known gun enthusiast participated in the opening shoot.
Another event accentuating the celebration was the “Boodle Fight”, where participants share mixed food served on a long table, featuring the 492 newly promoted QC cops that include 30 commissioned officers to celebrate their timely step up the ranks.
In addition, a blood drive was also held in cooperation with Mu Sigma Phi Sorority of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine in support of its “Lukso ng Dugo” program for the benefit of the Philippine General Hospital Blood Bank’s indigent patients.
In a message by Gen. Regis, he congratulated the personnel under his command for the successful conclusion of QCPD’s celebration of the PNP’s 21st Anniversary and reminded them that the event was really all about the men and women of the police force.
